Veterans Day is approaching, and our students this week will be learning about the values that America’s veterans and service members embody through “Honor Their Courage,” a service learning program offered by Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP). We’re also honoring veterans by fundraising for Wounded Warrior Project. Will you support us with a donation? Our goal for Temple Hill Elementary is $100. We will be collecting money this week in the office.

Over the weekend, a situation occurred in which a student unknowingly logged into a phishing website using their unicoischools.com credentials. As a result, the phishing website used those credentials to send a potentially malicious email to all employees and students with a unicoischools.com address. As a rule, student accounts are protected from receiving email from unapproved outside sources, however, the entity behind the phishing website was logged in with the student’s compromised account.
The fraudulent email is titled: Work-Study Opportunity – Personal Assistant Position Available to all employees and students. In the email, a link is provided to apply for a paid work study. When the link is clicked, a Google Form appears.

If any employee, student, or parent visited this site and supplied the requested information (Name, Personal Email Address, Home Address, Phone Number, Gender, Age, Bank Name, and Credit Card Information), you should contact your bank and/or credit issuers to alert them of potential fraud. Unicoi County Schools has contacted the Unicoi County Sheriff's Department who will be working with TBI/FBI to investigate and prosecute those behind this phishing event.
