Our school was invited to participate in the kindergarten pilot of Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation’s K-3 Home Library program this fall.

Through this program, all kindergarten students in our school district are being given the opportunity to receive six high-quality books and activity pages, delivered to their homes this fall at no cost to families.

If you choose to participate, your kindergarten student(s) will receive high-quality books mailed directly to your home at no cost to you! This will be a gift for your family to keep and enjoy forever.

In order to enroll your child(ren), we need to securely share your directory information with Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation, who is working to ensure all children receive books. Directory data includes things you may see in a phonebook, like names and addresses.

If you WOULD like to participate, no other action needs to be taken.

If you choose NOT to participate, call (423) 743-2016. Please leave your name, your child’s name, and your child’s school. Taking this step will ensure your child will NOT receive the books. In order to opt out, you must call and do so by 4:00 EST on Monday, September 2. After that time, we will not be able to remove your child from the recipient list.
