Unicoi Co Intermediate School

The fifth grade teachers did “Decade Days” to teach the periods of time for the fifth grade students.

Parent/Teacher conferences will be Thursday,  March 29th. School will dismiss at 12:45 on this day.

Report cards will go home on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

Dear Families,

It is hard to believe that we are about to begin our last nine weeks of the school year! This year has flown by, and we have worked really hard all year to give your child the best education possible. Just a HUGE reminder that the TCAP test will be the week of April 30-May 4, 2012. Please make sure that your child is on time and present every day of testing. We will be doing a reward event for all students who are here every day and are not absent or tardy and have to do make-ups. Please do not schedule doctor’s appointments during this time if at all possible. We only have one week to test, so we need your child here.

We had a great turn out for AR Night of Reading. Many students reached their goals, and families were able to get involved in a night of reading. I really appreciate the support you showed your children by coming out for our event. Read more…

Student midterm grades were sent home yesterday, February 8, 2012

Spring pictures for students will be on February 21st, 2012.

We will also be doing class pictures on February 21st. The cost of the class pictures will be $14.oo, and the class picture must be paid for in advance. We will not be ordering any extra, so you must pay in advance if you wish to have a picture of your child’s class.

Checks must be made out to Lifetouch.

We will be sending out more information the week of February 6th.

We will be having a Parents Night Out on Saturday, February 4th from 6:00 to 9:00pm. The cost is $5.00 per child. We will have various activities and snacks for sale. Pizza, cotton candy and candy bars-$1.00, drinks-.75, other candy-.50.  Bring your intermediate school child and enjoy a parents night out! Please fill out the form we are sending home with contact information.

We will have a PTO meeting Tuesday, February 7th at 6:30pm to discuss the spring fundraiser.

THE 5TH GRADE TCAP WRITING TEST IS FEBRUARY 1ST. We had posted it would be February 7th, which was incorrect.

Veterans from the 310th and 364th Expeditionary Sustainment Commands and the 230th Sustainment Brigade answer questions from students at Unicoi Elementary in Unicoi, Tenn., on what it is like being a soldier in today’s Army in a combat zone.
