CAPSTONE EVENT

Rock Creek will be hosting a Parent AR Night on Thursday, January 26th and will need 7 high school volunteers to help usher and to help with basic computer needs. Studenst will need to be at Rock Creek Elementary from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Students will need to wear nice jeans/ pants and a UC HS shirt. Students for this event must sign up with Ms. Wright by Tuesday the 24th. Please sign up quick as this is a limited need project.

UCHS Drama Announces Holiday Program

The Unicoi County High School Drama Department
invites community members of all ages to their annual
holiday production on Monday, December 12, 2011 at
7:00pm in the UCHS Auditorium. This year’s show will
include two one-act performances. Yes, Virginia There
is a Santa Clause will be performed by Theatre I students.
In this show, audience members will see how a question
innocently asked by 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon changes
the holidays forever. The Advanced Drama students will
perform a1940s themed holiday show written by the
students themselves. The show, named Waiting Under
the Mistletoe, is a comedic and heartwarming production
about falling in love during a USO holiday dance. Tickets
are $3.00 and will be available at the door. Doors open at
6:45pm.

Red Ribbon Week

Next week, October 24th-28th is Red Ribbon Week. This is a week when millions of our American population wear a red ribbon to show that our young people and our adults are united for a drug-free society.Red Ribbons will be distributed in lunch on Monday. Ribbons will also be placed in teachers boxes.Please help us support this very worthy cause. In celebration, Mrs. Love has approved the following “dress up” days.

Monday: “Put a Cap on Drugs” (Students wear hats)

Tuesday: “Stomp out Drugs” (Students wear any variety of boots)

Wednesday: “Sock it to Drugs” (Students wear wild or crazy socks)

Thursday: “Team up Against Drugs” (Students wear a jersey or shirt from their favorite sports team)

Friday: Wear Red

UCHS HOMECOMING PARADE

UCHS Invites the Community to the UCHS HOMECOMING PARADE

The UCHS Senior Class invites the community to attend the  UCHS Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 6:00 pm.  This year the  parade will start at Food Lion in Erwin and continue down Main Street to Gentry Stadium. The UCHS Band and all  of this year’s  Homecoming candidates and escorts will be in the parade. We encourage the community to come out and support the Blue Devils.

UCHS DRAMA PRESENTS INTO THE WOODS,JR

he Unicoi County High School Drama Department proudly presents the Sondheim and Lapine Broadway musical, Into the Woods, Jr, April 8-10, 2011 in the UCHS auditorium.  In this hilarious, yet heart-warming, production, favorite fairy tales combine as such characters as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Witch explore the consequences of making wishes and taking journeys.  Audiences of all ages will relate to this musical with both humor and heart.  Show dates are Friday, April 8th at 7:00pm, Saturday April 9th at 7:00pm, and Sunday, April 10th at 2:00pm. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Tickets go on sell thirty minutes before each show. For more information contact Lori Ann Wright at 423-743-1632.
